We have been a little quiet here recently as we have been working on a huge new project: the birth and first weeks with our new daughter, Sahara Evelyn-Rose.
For those new to our family, I (Angie) have two sons from my ex-marriage, Hunter and Ryder aged 11 and 13 (read our About Us page here for more background), and Remy (my husband) and I have been trying for the past two-plus years to have a child. Our journey to parenting was met with three back-to-back miscarriages, two-post miscarriage uterus artery embolization surgeries to control internal uterus bleeding, and finally Sahara’s pregnancy was met with challenges including a bleed from a hematoma lining the uterus requiring emergency hospitalization at 21 weeks. Despite the bumpy journey and subsequent fear, I made it to 41 weeks and 3 days pregnant before going into what would become a lengthy and difficult labor (more to come on this soon when I get a chance to write about our birth story).
On July 12th at 2:30pm, Sahara finally entered our arms in Bayonne, France. To say we are ecstatic is an understatement. Since her arrival, we have been locked in a bubble of baby bliss.
We will be back with more Voyage Virage content and updates soon!
Thank you for all your support.
Angie, Remy, Ryder, Hunter, Sahara and the dog, Sage.
xx
Note: For those messaging us asking if we have a baby gift register, we do not as we prefer to remain minimalist ahead of our plans to move onto the boat next year, and also as we bought everything we needed for the baby secondhand on the Vinted app.
