What is regeneration?
Thrivability - Regeneration goes beyond sustainability by aiming for thriving living systems. It seeks to enhance the health, vitality, and evolutionary potential of ecosystems and human communities.
Holistic Approach - This approach integrates ecological, social, cultural, spiritual, and economic dimensions. It considers the interdependence of all life forms and the need for humans to live in harmony with natural systems
Place-Based Participation - Working within specific places to leverage local potential and foster community-based initiatives. It recognizes the unique characteristics and needs of each living system.
Evolutionary Process - This discipline views regeneration as an ongoing process of evolution and growth, focusing on developing the capacity and capability of living systems to adapt and flourish over time.
Lomani Gau Community Spotlight
Gauans (people of Gau Island) are dedicated to caring for their lush Gau Island. They created the Lomani Gau project over a decade ago - coordinated community-led conservation, sustainable development and regenerative management efforts - to strengthen their custodianship responsibilities to the land and its surrounding marine environment, which they hold in trust for future generations.
