Change Climate Bio Epoxy: https://www.changeclimate.com.au/
*We will be moving forward with this bio epoxy using the current CCBE-1 formula (currently in stock in Europe) to do all the horizontal epoxy work, which is about half of the boat’s epoxy needs. The Australian-based company is currently tweaking the formula based on our feedback to create one with better tack, which will be used for all the vertical lay-up work. This is great news for other boat builders wanting to use a high quality bio epoxy.
Movingui Hardwood: We bought this legacy stock through the French secondhand market website Leboncoin. With time to spare (which Remy has had ample since his accident), we were able to find this 200-year-old+ tree that had been sitting in storage of a second generation carpenter’s family business.
We are getting asked a lot of questions as to why we opted for Movingui. Finding the legacy stock is one part of the decision due to it costing much less than new, imported African hardwoods (we also wanted to refrain from importing African timber) and is also a better price-for-quality ratio than European hardwoods on the market. Movingui is known for its high quality and resistance to rot and worm. It is quite dense, however we have made adjustments to the lines drawings to compensate for this so as not counterbalance the extra weight. More on this to come in a future episode!

Enjoy a short bonus video on our Substack, going back just over a year in time to July 2024, when we met Hanneke Boon in Lorient for the re-launch of Benji Flao’s LouLoute.
